When we saw a photo online, we were inspired to recreate it, intrigued to know more about the building and determined to find it! Join us as we walk to Rogers' Tower near Penzance.
Rogers’ Tower was built in 1798, and is thought to have been constructed from stones taken from the Iron Age fort ramparts within which it sits, much to the dismay of archeologists. It is now considered to have been built as a folly, a picnic spot for the Rogers' family. Another theory is that it was used to see enemy vessels approaching.
Whatever the reason it was built, it is a wonderful curiosity with a remarkable resemblance to a modern sandcastle bucket!

Our favourite bit of the walk is...
...exploring the tower itself and uncovering the amazing folklore of the area!
