Pothkisney Beach is near St Ives in Cornwall. Bounded to the east by the River Hayle and By Carbis Bay to the east, it is a large beach with a large expanse of rippled sand at low tide. Ideal all year for dog walking and for family beach days.

What is this beach like?
At low tide this beach is large with deep tidal ridges leaving small pools of sea water. At high tide, the beach is small, backed by tall sand dunes.
Amenties and access
Porthkidney is accessed from a small parking area near Lelant Church,. Follow the path through the golf course, under the railway line and emerge on a rocky forshore of the Hayle River. Another 5 minute walk leads you to the larger expanse of golden sand. This route is submerged at high tide when access is via the SWCP.
There is a small amount of street parking and a small paying car park. There are no toilets or food outlets near the beach.
