Product Details
This is my interpretation of the view to Pedn Vounder beach in Cornwall. It is one of the most photographed beaches in the County for its beautiful topaz blue water and almost white sand, made of crushed shells. Access to the beach is either down a narrow cliff path or by swimming around from nearby Porthcurno Beach. With the swathe of blue bells adorning the cliff top, it certainly is one of the most beautiful views in the County.
I collect sea glass on our beaches in Cornwall and incorporate it into the art to represent cobbles, rocks or water and sometimes flowers. Each piece of sea glass is unique and can take up to 40 years tumbling in the sea to create a really smooth opaque piece, making this art piece unique. This piece includes sea brick too. The pieces were collected at Polurrian Cove, on the Lizard Peninsula.
For the embroidery, I have used a combination of french knots, daisy or chain stitches, seed stitches and couch stitch to define and create the detail, even adding a few beads too.
The frame was handmade by a framer in Foundry Chapel, Hayle and has been left open to allow you to touch a piece of Cornwall.

Etsy selling fees and taxes are high, and I am able to offer you a saving when you buy through my website. The painting measures 34cm width, 42cm height. Free UK postage.
