Where do you go in Cornwall for a traditional Cornish breakfast? And, just what makes it Cornish?

Andrew loves a good breakfast! Crispy bacon, yummy sausages and hot buttered toast are all ‘must-have’ ingredients for a great breakfast. In our opnioin, the addition of Hog’s Pudding makes it a Cornish breakfast.
Hog’s pudding is similar to a sausage but larger. It primarily consists of pork mince with breadcrumbs, herbs and spices. Traditionally, each village butcher would have their own recipe, creating a unique flavour. Once the pudding is encased, it is steamed before being sold. Traditionally, the pudding is sliced and fried before serving.
The Great Cornish Food Store, part of Waitrose building in Truro, sells all things Cornish: from gin to chocolate, beer to bacon, books to flowers! Local Cornish producers are able to showcase their products. Check out the Deli for an excellent Cornish Hog's pudding.
Also within the store, is a cafe offering a delectable range of light bites and lunches. It offers Hog’s pudding with their all day breakfast. It is fried before serving and Andrew loves it! Unfortunately, there is no coeliac version - sad times! However, they do offer gluten free bread substitution for their sandwiches and to serve with their homemade soups which are excellent.
