Crantock Cornwall

Crantock

Crantock is on the West of the River Gannel near Newquay. It is a quaint village with thatched cottage, church and pub. It also has one of the most beatuiful beaches on the north coast of Cornwall.

What is this beach like?

Crantock is a beach with a huge tidal range. At high tide it is a very small beach but when the tide goes out, the beach is huge.

It is great for surfing and forsummer, family days on the beach. The sand is soft and golde, ideal for sandcastles. Be aware that the tide comes in quickly and it is important to know tide times when visiting.

Amenities and access

The large car park is owned and managed by the National Trust and in the height of summer, there is affitional pop-up parking nearby. There are toilets in the car park but no shops. In peak season there is a seasonal snack bar near the entrance to the beach. The beach is about 5 minute walk from the car park across soft sand.

The village of Crantock is a short walk away, about 10 minutes. In the village is a shop, pub and cafe.
