Bude

Bude is a Victorian seaside resort with a large beach, excellent surfing and two mermaid pools. The town follows the River Neet and has a variety of shops and places to eat.

There are a number of pop up cafes and eateries on the canal. There is also the Falcon Hotel, and The Castle Museum has a cafe. The main street has a number of independent places to eat including bakeries selling pasties, pubs, fish & chip shops and cafes.

Beaches

The beach at Bude is a large, flat expanse of sand at low tide. There are several access points. From the canal, it is accessed by a good pathway and bridge over the River Neet onto a firm surface. The beach has excellent surfing. There are two mermaid pools in case you do not want to walk all the way to the sea at low tide!

Things to Do

  • Museum with relics of shipwrecks and interactive game to steer into port Bude canal offers easy walking. 

  • The South West Coast Path passes through Bude covering some of the highest cliff tops in Cornwall; to the north is Devon and in the south is Crackington Haven and on to Boscastle. 

  • Golf Course

Our Perfect Day...

...would start with a coffee and cake on the canal quayside, followed by a stroll along the canal and beach followed by an amble on the South West Coast Path to the tower. A meal in the Falcon Hotel would be the perfect finish to the day
