
Saltash
On the Cornish side of the River Tamar, Saltash has long been the gateway to Cornwall. Isambard Kingdom Brunel's famous rail bridge connected Cornwall and Devon in 1859. For many years, a ferry operated here until the road bridge was opened in 1961.

There is several pubs and cafes in the town and more on the waterfront.

Run. by volunteers, Elliott's Shop is a highlight of Saltash - a grocer's shop of yesteryear.
Mary Newman's cottage is a preserved cottage, dating from around 1480 with authentic furnishings in the Tudor style.
