St Austell

St Austell is an excellent base to visit The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the South West Coast Path. It is close to Charlestown, Mevagissey and Fowey.

There are a number of pubs in the town and several nationwide chain cafes as well as independents. Also, there are several bakeries offering pasties. Fast Food outlets like KFC and MacD are on the Mevagissey roundabout.

Beaches

Although St Austell does not have a beach in the town, there are beaches in Carlyon Bay, Porthpean, Par and nearby Pentewan.

Things to Do

St Austell Brewery has a visitor centre offering pub meals, brewery tours and wholesale bottled beers. The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Charlestown are close by. The Wheal Martyn Clay Museum is close to the town centre. Menacuddle Well is perfect for picnics.
