In search of the Real Pirates of Penzance

This walk goes in search of the real Pirates in Penzance to find out if there is any truth to the pirate myth. We also seek out the Newlyn artist colony, Les Rue de Beaux Arts, where artists were known to have resided at the turn of the 20th century.


Starting at Penlee House Gallery, the route continues to Newlyn. There is a cafe and toilets at Penlee House Gallery. It is an easy walk with plenty of opportunities for refreshments.
